Broker Check System

Many FINRA members have asked me why I am running and what my objectives are in running. One of my first major objectives is to see how I can contribute, as a Small Firm governor, towards making the Broker Check system more efficient regarding positive information. This is personal to me. When I got called up to active military duty in 2001, the revenues generated by my BD dropped to almost zero in less than four years. Because of this, I eventually fell behind on my personal taxes. The IRS immediately started tacking on penalties and interest and eventually started hitting me with tax liens. When my deployments ended, I had the daunting task of rebuilding my BD and, at the same time, paying off my tax liens. It took me seven years, but I accomplished this. However, I am still trying to get this reflected on my Broker Check report. To me, it makes no sense how negative information can go on a Broker Check report in a matter of weeks, but positive information takes forever to post. I would like to see what I can do to change this.
