I had the privilege of working on the headquarters staff of General Lloyd Austin who is now the Secretary of Defense (SecDef). I was in the G-3 (Operations) Section and my job was as one of his briefers. It wasn’t easy. I found out the hard way that he has a photographic memory (I tried to slide something by him in one of my briefs and he caught it). Now that he is the SecDef, I will try to meet with him to see if I can work something out with the DoD regarding getting help from the DoD for the purpose of getting more service members, leaving the military, to consider entering the securities industry (One of my objectives for running for the board).
